The second round of the Cyclo Cross National Trophy came to Irvine and expert cyclo-crosser Catherine Logan finished 28th in a field comprised of the country's best. The Irvine Beach Park course is one of the toughest in the calendar with sharp climbs and deep, energy-sapping sand. Local rider Logan put in an excellent performance in supremely tough event. This is the first time the National Trophy event has come to Scotland and more than 600 entrants took part including elite cyclo-cross riders from all over the country. Organised by our friends at the Kilmaurs-based Walker's Cycling Club the event was a huge success and another demonstration of how good the cycling facilities in North Ayrshire are.
