Perfect cycling weather means the mileages have been piling on, with FWCC members out and about in the sunshine. Adventures this week include sunburn climbing the infamous 'Talla Wall' in the Borders, rider Del Young getting stung on the head by a bee that got stuck in his helmet, melting tarmac, and an unprecedented early start to the regular Sunday Club Run to avoid the hottest part of the day. Large numbers of riders have been turning up for the regular Monday evening club ride, the Tuesday recovery ride around Troon, the inter-club Criterium (or 'Crit') around Gailes on Wednesday, time trial training on Thursday, the 'Bun Run' to Largs on Saturday, repeating again on Sundays with either the FWCC Club Run or participation in cycling races around Scotland. Plenty of summer-time enjoyment on the bike to be had and all are welcome. If you are interested in club cycling then the Monday or Tuesday nights are often recommended as a starting point. Please contact the club membership secretary via the website.
