FWCC's Natalie Jamieson launched her 2019 track campaign with this week's Saturday Masters and tandem event at the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome in Glasgow. Paired with new tandem pilot Lucie Hrnickova they achieved 15.19 seconds for the flying 200m. "Not the fastest time we've had", notes Jamieson, "but we learned that we we had gone too fast for the five lap build up, so something to take back to the practise sessions and work on."
For the 1 kilometre time trail the pair did not have a gate start and instead had to be held on the line. "We had never practised this in training so it was a very interesting experience trying to mount a tandem whilst trusting someone to hold it steady!". Once settled the pair had a five second countdown and were off, pounding around the banked turns to complete four laps in 1'29.93, beating the 1 minute 30 seconds target. A terrific start to the 2019 season.
