times 20/04/17

6 cyclists out on a night with a bitter biting north westerly that, for the course, gave an unusual but welcome assist on the return leg giving 4 riders course season bests.

Darren Kean 21.50
Brian Nicol 23.24 csb
Mikey Allen 24.06 csb
Martin Shields 25.20 csb
Scott McKendrick 25.47
Jen Nicol 31.04 csb

7 riders out tonight on what was probably, weatherwise, the best night of the season so far for the cyclists and certainly for the timekeepers.

recorded times

1 Gordon Graham 22.29
2 Stevie Watters 23.25
3 Aileen Clyde 24.08 CSB
4 Scot McKendrick 24.08 CSB
5 Alex McPhie 24.56 CSB
6 Martin Shields 25.03 CSB
7 Val Martin 27.02

great times for Gordon and Stevie on their first outing on the course this season, Stevie did really well in not allowing Gordon to overtake him. Scott, Martin and Alex recorded course seasonal bests and not for the first time this season we saw two cyclists, Aileen and Scott, returning identical times.

If you haven't tried individual TT training or you want to improve your times and/or technique you will be most welcome.

Oops, thought Aileen had only done 15 milers so far and hadn't noticed she had taken a remarkable 1 minute 27 seconds of last week's time, sorry Aileen

Aye, no complaints about the weather last night Ian. Warm and sunny and only a very light breeze. Frustrating to have left my good legs on the turbo trainer the night before (16 Watts down from Sunday  ). I could see Stevie just ahead from the Papermill but despite my best efforts he was going too fast for me to close the gap. A big improvement from the last one Stevie. Great stuff.

I'm pretty certain Aileen would've had her PB again if she'd had her fast wheels.

A big improvement from Scott.... and what would Darren have done on a night like this? A short 21 at least.

Thanks to yersel Ian and helpers Brian and Jeniffer.

Cheers, Gordon G.

7 riders took part tonight, Alex McPhie did the 15.8 miles course and the other 6, Natalie Hunter, Sam Malcolmson, Jen Nicol, Brian Nicol, Val Martin and Mark Skilling doing the 10.

Unable to post actual times as I have passed numbers and paperwork to Brian as I will be at EuroDisney next week but times ranged from over 21 to 31 minutes. The 15 miles option is open every week if you fancy a longer ride.

I'm planning to come along to give the much anticipated retro TT bike a shake-down. I'll give you a wave when I come past you Darren...

...

Is it 18:30ish at the Corraith bridge? And where does the 10 course actually go?? Never done it before.
