13 February - Drybridge Hall

Postby Brian_Loye » Sat 11 Feb, 2012 8:23 am

This Monday Nigel will be running a bike maintenance session from 7pm.

Nigel done one of these sessions some time ago and was happy to cover pretty much anything on the night. Do you have any specific requests?

I'm looking forward to this as I am sure that my kit is being neglected regards proper maintenance. I'm keen to find out if my assumption that modern bearing are all sealed and need zero maintenance.

Thank to Nigel for giving us the benefit of his knowledge and experience.

Cheers

Stephen

As the previous presentation not sure what level to pitch at, therefore if members could forward what knowledge they require this should set the agenda for the night.

I will also cover basis bike setup for road and TT bikes calling on the experience from more knowledgable members for road bikes. This may involve a questionnaire being filled in to evaluate your understanding of your own bikes.

I'm not going to make it on Monday, disappointed to be missing what I'm sure will be an excellent night.

Just wondering if there's any chance of someone filming the night for those that can't make it? That would be a good second best.

Nigel,

I am interested in perhaps seeing or being told about a bike build..... As I think this would need to cover every component being fitted and adjusted to suit the rider. Following this i suppose the weekly, monthly or annual checks that you would recommend should be carried out. I don't know if you will have time to do this but I will be grateful for any knowledge shared.

Cheers..... Stephen

Nigel,

Not that experienced so anything you can tell us about general maintenance would be very helpful.

Cheers,

Peter
