Roabie Robertson Memorial 10 mile TT

Post by Chris Staples » Wed 01 Sep, 2010 10:00 pm

8 Fullarton riders in tonights event at the Westferry course with conditions good. A night of high drama with PBs a plenty and Yorkshire hospitality ensued!

D McLellan: 21:27 PB
G Stead: 22.17
C Staples: 22:58 PB
J Ryland: 23:05 PB
H Hamilton: 23:27
D Wards: 23:29
R Sykes: 24:26 PB
W Stephen: 24:34

What followed next is the stuff of legend. Forget the Kennedy assassination, I for one will remember where I was the night Richard Sykes remembered the combination to unlock his wallet, dusted off a couple of notes, checked with the lassie behind the counter that they were still legal tender and, as the rider who knocked the largest number of seconds off his PB (a full 1 min and 6 secs - you could say he battered it), treated those in attendance to a bumper fish supper in downtown Lochwinnoch. A glorious night indeed!

Well done all. Especially Sykes for smashing his PB ny such a large margin, not to mention the round of suppers! Take it the new bike was working well?

I'll need to get one of these fancy new fangled TT machines amd get racing. Purely at the thought of a free fish supper mind! :D The outlay for a TT rig will be repaid within the year by all those free meals.

Well done guys....!!!!

Wish I was there.... It would have been great to have a go at a PB, but even more intriguing to witness the feeling of elation and and burst of endorphins that led to Sykes having very generously mad spending spree....!!!!

Sykes,

Not content with using my narrative to suggest you are known for being somewhat reticent in opening your wallet (the big boys made me do it!) I have just realised that I added 20 secs to your time - just looked at the Braveheart site and have now amended the original post.

Sorry!

Good effort boys, well done to all.

Sykes
How have you been bearing up since Wednesday? Saying goodbye to old freinds can be such a traumatic event, but I'm sure that in time the pain you're now feeling will subside.

I'll be thinking about you pal. If ever you need a shoulder to cry on............

Aye right -

well done boys for prizing the cash oot o' his tight wee fingers.

Drew, I haven't done a 10 in the last three years - what will my handicap be?

Brian
May I suggest in the interest of fair play around your handicap, should you not use your mountain bike
