A great day out and brilliant weather,7 of us rode out of Alloway and over some undulating roads to maybole where we crossed over to the scenic route to Straiton, while on this road a few breaks went up the road with other chasing. Everybody regrouped at Straiton and rode up the climb to watch the 3rd stage of the Girvan cycle race approaching, then down into the famous Straiton cafe for coffee and cakes. After refeshments the run split up for the home run back to Ayr, with the old irvine cycles team heading for Daily and GIrvan to head home via the Turnberry coast road and the rest of us going back via Maybole and the back road to Alloway.

This is the second of Fullarton Wheelers runs away from home and enjoying some different scenic routes, why not come along and join us on one of these runs that are led by experienced club riders who know the roads very well .

Check out the website that is continually updated with details of all runs at ( fullartonwheelers.com ) or give us a ring on 07989396851. Our club night is in Drybridge hall at 7.30pm every Monday evening where you will be made very welcome.

Thanks to Willie for taking us round the above route.

A most enjoyable day out in glorious sunshine (rare for the Girvan).

I'm looking forward to our next away day to take in more fresh roads. It certainly keeps it interesting. :D

Cheers.
